Society AGM And Gathering 2019

T

his year's Clan Donnachaidh Society AGM & Gathering is being held between Wednesday 11th September and Sunday 15th September 2019.

Below is a programme of events for the week along with links to booking forms in Word and PDF format, or if you prefer, an on-line booking form which uses PayPal for payment. We hope you can attend this year and we look forward to meeting you.


Wednesday 11 September

10 am – 1 pm - DNA update, with Q&As with Stephanie in the Tryst hall

2 – 4 pm - Dancing lesson for the ceilidh after the dinner on Friday in the Tryst hall

6 – 7 pm - Welcome reception in the Acarsaid Hotel


Thursday 12 September

9.30 am to around 4 pm - Coach tour with Donald Reid. Visit to the Jacobite exhibition in Perth, with an opportunity to see Clan Donnachaidh artefacts in their wider context. Lunch in Perth. Return via clan country. Departure: Pitlochry, Bank of Scotland bus stop (opposite Fisher’s Hotel), 9.30 am

8 pm - Concert with PlaidSong, a music duo based in Perthshire performing new and traditional songs linked to history in the Tryst hall. Doors open at 7.30 pm.


Friday 13 September

12 noon – 2 pm - Annual General Meeting in the Tryst Hall.

6 – 11 pm - Chief’s Reception and Dinner followed by a ceilidh with local band Dancing Feet in the Bow Lounge, Atholl Palace Hotel

Reception: 6 – 7 pm, Dinner: 7.15 pm, Ceilidh: 9 – 11 pm.Transport available. Please see booking form.


Saturday 14 September

Pitlochry Highland Games - The Society will have a tent alongside the local branch tent. Inauguration of the Donnachaidh Stones. Events commence at 10.30am


Sunday 15 September

11.30 am – 12.30 pm - Kirk service with Rev. Jim Reid in Struan Kirk.

1 pm - Lunch at the Struan Inn. Closing date for bookings: Wednesday 4 September.
