The Clan Donnachaidh Society (‘the Society’) is a company registered in Scotland and limited by guarantee incorporated under the Companies Act 2006. The Society is also a Scottish Registered Charity (No. SC044296).
Our charitable purposes, powers and general structure are defined in our Articles of Association and include rules and regulations, chosen by the Society's members, which govern our direction, and how we undertake our business. If you have any concerns about the way we conduct our business then please contact us and we will do our best to address your concerns.
Business transactions on our website include processing membership subscriptions and the sale of tickets for events in the United Kingdom including the Annual Gathering. These online transactions are subject to compliance with UK Distance Selling regulations which stipulate the requirement for a 14-day "cooling off" period following the completion of any transaction. This means you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of completion. You do not require to give a reason for cancelling. Cancellation
Should Clan Donnachaidh Society have to cancel the event (or elements of the programme), you will receive a refund. Should you require to cancel your booking or part of your booking we will do our best to accommodate your changes and refund you. However, it may not be possible to obtain a full refund. For example, events which have been organised by or through a third party will be subject to their cancellation policy). This notwithstanding, all online bookings made via our website will be subject to and conform with UK Distance Selling Regulations (see above).
Pricing
All pricing for your booking is in pounds sterling. We will confirm your booking by e-mail.

We retain the right to accept your order solely at our discretion. If we are concerned that you are attempting to place an order dishonestly, fraudulently, by impersonating someone else or are attempting to use payment details which have been stolen we will make additional checks as to your standing and if appropriate involve external authority.

You are applying for membership or to renew membership of the Clan Donnachaidh Society. Membership of the Society is open to any person interested in its charitable purposes, subject to payment of an annual or other subscription. Your application will be accepted via our online booking form available on our website, or by completing and returning a pdf copy of the application form which you can request from the Clan Secretary. All bookings made via the booking system on our website will be subject to and conform with UK Distance Selling Regulations (see above). Full information about membership of the Clan Donnachaidh Society is outlined in our Articles of Association.
Types of Membership
We currently offer three types of membership:-
Individual (Ordinary) membership is available to anyone over the age of 18 years on payment of an annual subscription or five year subscription.
Family membership is available to any two members of a household over the age of 18 years on payment of an annual subscription or five year subscription.
Life membership is available to any one individual over the age of 18 years on payment of a one-off subscription.
Membership is neither transferable nor assignable to any other individual or organisation.
Membership subscriptions
Members are required to pay the appropriate annual membership subscription. Subscriptions may be paid in UK pounds sterling (£) or in USA dollars (US$).
Current membership subscriptions are:
On receipt of your membership application and payment you will receive an e-mail confirmation. You will also receive an e-mail with your digital membership certificate which you can download for your records. In June of each year of membership you will receive a copy of the Clan Annual by post. You will also receive an invitation from the Chief to attend the Annual Gathering in each year of your membership. Approximately two months prior to the expiry of your membership you will receive an invitation to renew your subscription via e-mail.
Cancellation
You may cancel your application within fourteen days of completion of your transaction and receive a full refund. You do not require to give a reason for your cancellation. If you require further information or have any questions please contact us.
Security
We use Stripe payments portal to collect online payments in UK pounds sterling and PayPal payments portal to collect online payments in US dollars.
